In a journey rich with insight into the history and landscape of the river environmentalists, those who worked along it and volunteers who faced a daunting task talk about how they worked together to clean the river up.  Award-winning Sheffield writer, Paul Adam, travels the length of the Don, from its source high on the bleak moors of the Pennines to its mouth at Goole. 

Following the film, locally-based volunteers from the River Holme Connections charity who are engaged in improving the River Holme catchment area for wildlife, people and the Holme Valley's economy, discuss their conservation efforts.
